Five On Friday

A pessimist sees the difficulty in every  opportunity, an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. Winston Churchill

Last week we talked about being INTENTIONAL and this week we’re talking about choosing the best seeds or thoughts. I love the quote that was shared by Sherrie on Wednesday. That really does say much of what we’ve been talking about! And it was written 107 years ago!

Sadly , we too often go through life and don’t really stop to think about what  we’re thinking about ! We live our lives and we just let our thoughts “happen”.Whatever comes into our thoughts comes in automatically and then it “comes out” in our lives. But the good news is that we CAN do something about it! We can INTENTIONALLY CHOOSE what thoughts go through our minds. At least we can choose the ones we let roam around in there! Today, being our LIST DAY, I’m giving you …. 5 THINGS TO DO TO INTENTIONALLY

CHOOSE THE BEST SEEDS

STAY FOCUSED ON POSITIVE THOUGHTS. Some of these are reminders of things we’ve mentioned in the past two weeks but they’re really IMPORTANT so I’m putting them on the list. So here they are:

Five Things To Do To Intentionally Stay Focused On Positive Thoughts

1) Make a list of POSITIVE and TRUE things about  you and your life and read it every day. This is REALLY being proactive!

2) When a feeling of dread, worry, anxiety, etc. ( pick one that fits ) comes over you, stop and DELETE  THAT THOUGHT and turn your focus to something POSITIVE! ( This takes practice but soon you’ll find it’s just like flipping a switch )

3) Whether you’re reading, watching TV, listening to music, choose those things that inspire, uplift, motivate, and encourage you.

4) Start a gratitude journal to remind yourself of all the things you have to be grateful for.

5) Find positive and encouraging people to be around. Stay away from Debbie Downers.

Last Friday’s assignment Are you working on the assignment I gave out on Monday which was supposed to have been for last Friday? : )   If you don’t remember, check back to that post.  Making a decision to BE INTENTIONAL about things  makes it easier  to be the person you  CHOOSE to be and not merely REACTING to what ever comes up in  life.

Give-Away Some of you may not be aware we’re having a Give-Away! We extended the time to enter so more could get in. Check back to our May 1st post for information on how to enter and what you’ll  win!  Tell your friends to sign up also! We’ll pick a winner at the end of the month.

Comments Your comments mean a lot to us so click on it and say Hi!  We’ve had people say they think they have to say something profound but we just would love you to stop by and say “hello”. Thanks for stopping in!

  3. Nancy Leigh DeMoss’s book on “Gratitude” has great thoughts and ideas on being grateful. She has a section on starting a gratitude journal. Gratitude really changes your attitude. 🙂
