…Live a balanced life. Learn some and think some and  draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work some.  Robert Fulgham

How balanced is your life?  Are you running non-stop with little time to rest? Do you take plenty of time to relax, have fun and enjoy life? Would you describe your life as peaceful and serene or chaotic and hectic? Is your life full of purpose and passion? Are you excited about life? Do you look forward to each day? Do you have goals and plans for your life or are you just hoping things will just automatically fall into place?

Creating balance in our lives  is just as important as creating a balanced diet for our physical health. The Mayo Clinic states that a life out of balance can result in a” SOARING of our stress levels”. Personal Coach Laura Berman Fortgang tells WebMD, an online health site that, ” Almost everyone feels overwhelmed on occasion, so how do you know if your life is chronically out of balance? You know it’s time to make a change when misery and stress outweigh joy on a daily basis for two weeks or more.”

So how do you make sure you keep your life in balance? We can look at 6 general areas of our lives to try to keep a life of balance. They are the same areas we’ve mentioned previously : 1) Personal ( mind, body, spirit ) 2) Relationships 3) Home 4) Work/Job 5) Giving/Serving 6) Finances. In an earlier post I had given you an assignment to set goals in these areas.  I hope you followed through  with the assignment but if not, you could begin now. : ) Making sure you have intentionally set goals in ALL areas helps to insure we have at least PLANNED FOR BALANCE. Then comes the follow through.

We have another workshop that goes into more detail as to how to accomplish this but the important thing is to be aware of the need to be intentional about BALANCE IN OUR LIVES and start taking steps to make it happen.

Have a great weekend and don’t forget to plan some FUN and RELAXATION!
